Attention&Care for decking
Resysta sealed (RFS)
Resysta RFS sealant can be applied to Resysta untreated or glazed. As Resysta RFS seals dirt particles only adhere to
the surface of this sealed structure. Sealing causes the color to become more intensive in the course of time.
Cleaning: Dirt can be removed easily with a gentle jet of water (i.e. garden hose) or with a soft brush.
Care/Maintenance: In the course of time and at normal use of the decking, the sealing is subject to wear
(depending on the degree of strain). The decking can be sealed again when the coating is worn. Traces of use may
be refinished individually.
Resysta glazed(FVG)
The surface is colorized by means of the transparent-colored Resysta glazes. Due to the open structure, dirt adheres
to the surface more easily in comparison to a sealed surface. The color becomes lighter in the course of time. A
change in color is less visible with highly-pigmented glazes in comparison to glazes with less pigment-content.
Cleaning: Dirt can easily be removed by means of a gentle jet of water (i.e. garden hose) or with a soft brush.
Tenacious dirt (e.g. organic residues, fat) may also be removed by gentle sanding.
Care/Maintenance: In the course of time and at normal use of the decking, the sealing is subject to wear
(depending on the degree of strain). If desired, the glaze can be freshened up in diluted form (e.g. 3:1 ratio with
3 parts of water – 1 part of glaze). Prior to this, the terrace has to be cleaned thoroughly and – if necessary – sanded.
Traces of use may be glazed individually.
Resysta untreated
Due to the open structure, dirt deposits more easily in comparison to a sealed surface. In the course of time, owing
to missing pigmentation, the terrace floor will become lighter in color compared to a glazed surface.
Cleaning: Dirt can easily be removed by means of a gentle jet of water (i.e. garden hose, high-pressure-cleaner
with appropriate distance) or with a soft brush. Tenacious dirt (e.g. organic residues, fat) may also be removed by
gentle sanding.
Care/Maintenance: Maintenance – except for regular cleaning – is not necessary. The floor-boards may be glazed
and/or sealed at a later stage. Prior to this treatment the floor-boards have to be thoroughly cleaned and gently
sanded.
General recommendations
- We recommend to thoroughly clean the terrace once a year and remove all organic matter (e.g. foliage, leaves).
These can cause mildew spores, which could result in staining.
Notice: Mildew spores (stains, respectively) can be removed by gentle sanding. - In areas of major soiling we recommend the use of the sealer, making it much easier to remove stains (e.g. fat, red wine).
- Resysta FVG and Resysta RFS were especially adapted to the properties of Resysta. Therefore only these surface treatments may be employed for Resysta.
- Resysta does not gray. Less intensive maintenance of Resysta has no impact on the durability of the material.
- Full-surface doormats or rubber mats may result in residues on the terrace or staining respectively. Residues or stains can be removed by cleaning. If the glaze was employed, the color may be adapted by refinishing the glaze.
