Material

What exactly is Resysta?

Resysta is a hybrid material which consists mainly of rice husks. Based on a special process, the rice husks are connected homogeneously in a polymer matrix, thereby achieving their high material resistance and the wood-like look and feel.

Where can I buy Resysta products?

Resysta products are available from wholesalers, specialist dealers and retailers. Various traders on the Internet also offer Resysta articles. It is best if you inform yourself on the manufacturers' websites of which dealers are located in your area. Make sure that you only buy original Resysta products.

Who can manufacture Resysta profiles?

Resysta has high quality demands and therefore only supplies items to licensed production companies that have the appropriate technical facilities and equipment at their disposal.

Where can I get a Resysta product catalogue?

Product catalogues can be obtained from the manufacturers of the respective articles. You are welcome to submit enquiries to us for information about the different suppliers.

What are the most important advantages of Resysta compared to conventional wood or WPC?

The main advantage lies in the long period of weather resistance. Resysta does not rot and still retains its original strength even after decades. Moreover, Resysta can be varnished and painted in all colours and therefore offers the option of colouring in a variety of ways. Resysta also has a unique look and feel.

Environment/Recycling

Are Resysta products environmentally friendly?

Resysta meets all environmental standards and is free of harmful emission substances. Regular testing in accordance with the REACH criteria can prove this.

Does the manufacture of Resysta products contaminate the environment?

During production, high environmental standards are adhered to, so that no toxic waste substances whatsoever are produced.

Can Resysta products be recycled?

As a matter of principle, all Resysta products can be broken down and reused. If it was produced as a composite material, the ability to separate it into different materials has to be checked.

How can I dispose of Resysta products in an environmentally friendly manner?

Resysta products can be returned to the dealer or manufacturer or disposed of in the waste as prescribed by law.

Which safety advices are to be observed?

Attention: Do not burn the material! In case of fire, harmful chlorine gases and other degradation products may be released. Not suitable for independent architectural structures. Please observe the assembly instruction.

Please make sure there is sufficient ventilation for the material during storage. Do not store the material wrapped in plastic foil to avoid mould stains. Do not treat it with strong (e.g. acidic or chlorinated) cleaning agents. Such may damage the surface of the material. For the design with colours, please only use Resysta glazes and sealers to obtain an optimum colour result and avoid discoloration

Guarantee/Product Performance

What does the Resysta guarantee mean?

A guarantee is provided on certain specific characteristics of the Resysta material. Please also note the statements on the warranty and guarantees of the individual manufacturers.

What does the guarantee apply to?

The guarantee is applicable to the extruded profile. You should take note here of the statements of the producers. Product guarantees for finished products are subject to the respective guarantees of the manufacturers.

How durable is Resysta?

The durability of Resysta is almost indefinite. The material is completely weather-resistant and lasts for several decades. Resysta is also resistant to soft rot, fungal attack and termites.

How does Resysta get the look and feel of wood?

Resysta profiles are ground after production and only then provided with their unique look and feel. This is attributable to the special formulation and the high proportion of rice husks.

How can Resysta be processed?

Resysta can be processed using common tools and machines which are suitable for wood.

What certificates are available for Resysta? Fire protection? Building authority approval?

Depending on requirements, Resysta can be produced in different ways, for example in order to achieve a higher fire protection class. Please inquire about this directly from the manufacturers, as they issue the certificates.

Installation

How do I install Resysta?

For each Resysta application there are specific installation instructions, in which the installation method is described in detail. These instructions are available from the supplier of the Resysta products concerned.

Which substrate is appropriate?

Please also refer here to the corresponding assembly instructions of the supplier.

Should Resysta be installed by an expert?

With some craftsmanship skills you can also install Resysta yourself if you take account of the installation instructions of the manufacturers.

Surface

Does Resysta have to be treated? If so, how often?

Resysta requires no surface treatment in the sense of "wood preservation". For optical reasons, Resysta can be treated with an oil or a glaze in order to change the hue of the material as desired. Treatment with a 2C protective paint also offers protection against staining. However, 2C protective paint can only be used in combination with the glaze.

Are there any special surface materials for Resysta?

Yes. Not only the oil, but also the glaze and 2C protective paint are coordinated to Resysta. Please ensure that you use only original Resysta surface materials.

Can the colour shade change over the years?

All surfaces which are exposed to the weather are subject to natural wear caused by environmental factors. Rain and sunlight make the colour shade of untreated Resysta surfaces lighter over time. Resysta surfaces that have been treated with a glaze and the 2C paint or oil are colour-stable for a significantly longer period.

Can water stains appear?

Yes, on untreated surfaces. With a small quantity of hot water it is however possible to remove water stains easily again.

How do I clean Resysta?

Different types of soiling require different treatments. In general, however, most forms of soiling can be easily removed with water, a brush and with the help of our surface cleaner.

The surface is scratched. What can I do?

Untreated Resysta surfaces can be easily reworked by smoothing with coarse sandpaper (grain P40/P60) in the direction of the structure. In the case of treated Resysta surfaces, the colouring of these areas has to be subsequently treated, as the colour and the paint or oil have also been ground away.

Are there any special cleaners?

We recommend our special Resysta surface cleaner RSC. This is a cleaning concentrate which is added to the wiping water used for normal cleaning/care. For stubborn stains and soiling, this cleaner can also be applied as a concentrate. In the case of an oiled surface, the surface has to be oiled once more afterwards.
