Munich. Intelligent Wood specializes in marketing of UPB boards made of Resysta. Intelligent Wood uses the newly by Resysta International GmbH developed ecoplus3 technology to manufacture lightweight, water-resistant universal boards (Universal Performance Boards - or UPB boards for short) and to introduce them to Bau2019 in the European market. The UPB Board and its easy processing

UPB boards are 100% waterproof, lightweight (0.6 g / cm3), do not splinter, crack or rot. They are resistant to chlorine and salt water, thermoformable and most above all have the natural look and feel of tropical woods. This look is given to the UPB boards by a special touch after production. This is possible because UPB Resysta boards, like all Resysta products, are as easy to process as wood. Drilling, sawing, milling, gluing, painting and sanding can be done like any other wood product. Even the machines needed for processing can be taken over 1:1 from woodworking. In combination with the thermoformability, this results in an enormous freedom in design and it opens up completely new design possibilities that are not yet possible with many board products - mind always 100% water-resistance and the natural wood look. As a result, UPB boards are particularly suitable for outdoor use, e.g. as facade, terrace products, garden and street furniture, fence or blinds. Indoors they are particularly suitable as floors, walls and fixtures in wellness and wet areas such as kitchen, shower or bath.

UPB boards made of Resysta are delivered in the dimensions 1220mm x 2440mm and the thicknesses 8, 12, 16, 20mm. There is also a comprehensive color concept.

An "excellent" sustainable concept

UPB boards made of Resyta, like all Resysta products, consist of approx. 60% rice husks - a residue from the food industry, which otherwise has virtually no recovery. The rice husks as well as the other main components (approx. 22% rock salt and approx. 18% mineral oil) are available regionally worldwide, which is why the production of the material is licensed regionally so that it can also be produced regionally. A global transport of raw materials is therefore not necessary.

Even during the development of the material Resysta it was emphasized that it is recyclable. Sections and leftovers from the production are simply shredded and returned to production. From old Resysta come new products made of Resysta. But because products made of Resysta last incredibly long (UPB boards have an 80-year warranty against swelling, cracking, splintering and rotting) and can be recycled, the used raw materials are in use for a very long time.

Resysta, in cooperation with other manufacturers of products made of Resysta, has created a recycling loop with its own collection points to take back the remainders from processing, installation and concealment. Despite the recent history of the material Resysta and its enormous durability, products are still being made from recycled material. The recycling consortium is also supported by Vinylplus (www.vinylplus.eu), a voluntary sustainability development program of the European Union.

All these factors convinced the jury of the international Green Product Award. Since 2013, the Green Product Award has awarded innovative, sustainable design products for sustainable consumption. In 2018 over 400 manufacturers and designers from 25 nations applied. Each submission was put through its paces by a panel of experts on design, innovation and, above all, sustainability. The material Resysta was convincing, both through the use of leftover materials and the local sourcing of resources during production, as well as through its own recycling network, and was therefore the winner in the architecture category.

Very economical due to long durability with minimal care

UPB boards are high-tech products, which is why they can do more than many comparable products. In an economic sense, the UPB boards are especially convincing due to their long durability. Against swelling, tearing, splintering and rotting, the manufacturer Intelligent Wood gives 80 years warranty - and thus offers a quality that pays off over a medium term period - not only for your own purse, but also for our earth, as the raw materials are for a long time in Use. In addition, the UPB boards impress with their easy care. Products made Resysta, e.g. Garden furniture, facade elements or blinds can be cleaned very easily. Elaborate grinding or re-oiling such as e.g. for many wood products is not necessary.
